Job Description

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, temporary, benefits eligible

RATE: $37.50 hour

END DATE: September 15, 2023


Position Summary

CLC’s Restore Your Vote Organizer fights both de jure and de facto felony disenfranchisement by working closely with grassroots organizations and emphasizing direct services, community empowerment, and public education. Our on-the-ground work guides our systemic efforts to break down barriers to the franchise through litigation, administrative advocacy, and policy changes. The organizer will manage our outreach campaigns and direct voting rights restoration services. The organizer will also conduct outreach to national and state coalition partners to promote use of RestoreYourVote.org and other voting rights restoration resources.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reach out to voter registration groups and coalitions to help them integrate CLC’s voting rights restoration tools
  • Cultivate partnerships with community groups, particularly groups run by and for citizens directly impacted by felony disenfranchisement
  • Connect Restore Your Vote’s state partners through summer workshop series
  • Manage voting rights restoration outreach campaigns in several states
  • Assist partners with tracking their direct services and results


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in voting rights and/or criminal legal reform (preferred, not required)
  • Three or more years of grassroots organizing or campaign experience
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience with remote organizing campaigns and digital outreach tools
  • Spanish-language fluency a plus
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to the nonpartisan nature and mission of CLC
