Job Description

Scripps Health Administrative Services supports our five hospitals and 19 outpatient facilities, which treat half a million patients annually through 2,600 affiliated physicians.

This is a Full Time, Day Shift, 12 hour shifts per week position, and is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The shift is 0600-1830

Join our elite team as a Respiratory Therapist within our department at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Use your technical skills and experience to help our team in this exciting and fast-paced environment. Experience a variety of cases throughout our Level 3 NICU, ED, trauma, and Intensive Care Units. The ideal candidate has a thirst for knowledge and is dedicated to working with their team to provide excellent care to all of our patients.
The Respiratory Therapist, in collaboration with other caregivers, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates actions for respiratory care. Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care and other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort in the unit. Responds to critical situations. Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties. Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance, and performance improvement activities.
This is a Full time 12 hour shift from 6a-6:30p with 72 hours per pay period.

Qualifications - External

Required Qualifications:

  • Current California RCP license
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
  • Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Enjoys working with the public.
  • Technically competent in the department skills inventory. Computer literate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer one or more years acute care experience.
  • Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care preferred.
  • NICU experience
