Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Technician Program

Highly developed skill set that includes demonstrated critical thinking and analytical abilities

Consistently demonstrated high level of performance related to core values

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Certified or Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Alabama state license

If not certified by NBRC, must obtain certification by expiration of Temporary License date

BLS Certification

Desired Qualifications

Associate degree or BS degree in Respiratory Science

Desired Licensure, Registration, Certfication

Advanced Certification such as PALS, NRP, Certified Asthma Educator

Under general direction, position is responsible for setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment and performing or assisting with procedures utilized in the diagnosis or treatment of cardiopulmonary disease or illness. Assists in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services. Possesses ability to perform all RT services offered at FED.
