Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

The Resident M.D. is responsible for providing appropriate and timely medical care to patients. They must seek assistance from the preceptor/faculty based on agreed parameters for level of training and attend educationally related activities as part of residency training, i.e. conferences and lectures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/CRITICAL TASKS
  • Provide appropriate and timely medical care to patients.
  • Provide efficient and courteous medical care to patients.
  • Continue to develop patient care knowledge through hands-on training, research, and attending lectures.
  • Help provide education and training to students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Perform on-call duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and present lectures/journals as assigned.
  • Communicate written and verbal instructions to patients.
  • Participate in assigned monthly rotations to continue education.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

D.O. or M.D. Degree from an accredited Medical School required. Experience gained while attending accredited Medical School.

REQUIRED LICENSES/ CERTIFICATION
  • Basic postgraduate permit or medical license from Texas Medical Board required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Institutional DEA certification or DEA and DPS certifications required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
