Job Description

Job Title: Scientist


: ALSTEM, INC is a growing research biotechnology company located in Richmond, CA. ALSTEM is a nimble provider of tools specializing in virus packaging, genome editing, cell engineering and stem cells for life science research.


ALSTEM is looking for a highly organized and energetic Scientist with a Ph.D degree to join its scientific team. The candidate will lead the expansion of our existing contract service capabilities and the development of new products in areas such as iPSC reprogramming and differentiation, genome editing, stable cell line generation and more. This is a hands-on lab-based role at the forefront of iPS cells, gene delivery, and genome editing.


Education Requirements: PhD degree in cell biology biology, biochemistry, or related field.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Experience in genetic modification for iPS cells and other cell line types is a plus
  • Expertise in transfection, transduction, and electroporation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SnapGene, etc
  • Experiences in assay development
  • Experience in virus packaging techniques is a plus
  • Experience in stable cell line development is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of protein purification and related areas
  • Knowledge/experience with aseptic technique
  • Strong skills in cell culture techniques are required

  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Attention to details and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of current developments in the literature.
  • Strong technical, organization, documentation, and communication skills (verbal and written) are essential. Must be able to track on-going projects, present data, and prepare reports.
