Job Description
Job Summary


Serves as the Research Program Manager for the RSFH Clinical Research Department. Functions as the point person between sponsors, investigators, and study team; Provide high level analytical and operational support to management team in the form of budget preparation, ongoing financial analysis/reporting and operational structure; Communicates with Director and Management Team to develop and maintain appropriate procedures, management controls and services to ensure the effective management, financial auditing, accounting, control and reporting of clinical research funds; Manages portfolio Responsible for providing timely and professional information, advice and recommendations regarding the many significant challenges and opportunities associated with the stewardship of public and private clinical research funding; Participates in performance improvement initiatives to improve existing and develop new and innovative processes.


Minimum Qualifications


Education: Bachelor's degree in related field required.Master?s degree preferred.


Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience preferably in clinical or research operations, hospital and/or practice administration, hospital and professional billing compliance, fund accounting, grants management, clinical trial financial management, and/or research compliance.Consideration will be given for unpaid internship experience.


Knowledge/Skills: Must be able to function independently with minimal supervision and act with discretion and confidentiality;Ability to manage multiple tasks successfully and work collaboratively with others;Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in project management and/or program administration; Must be able to demonstrate understanding of advanced accounting and technical skills required for the interpretation of complex financial reporting; Working knowledge of contract law is required to interpret and analyze research agreements and payment terms; Knowledge of various funding mechanisms, reporting requirements and regulations, audit procedures andmanagement of clinical trial finances is preferred;Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required


Other: Ability to excel in a collaborative environment and to establish/maintain strong working relationships with sponsors/collaborators, hospital departments, physicians/practices, and coworkers; Ability to communicate clearly with public and physicians; Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information


Contacts: Constant interaction with sponsors/clinical research organizations and research personnel; Frequent interaction with management and staff throughout the Institution (ie. Compliance, Legal, Physician Practices, Hospital Departments, Senior Management)
