Summary

This research nurse will support Dr. Carlos Bacino's complex Angelman protocols. This person will prepare and assist during medication dosings as well post-visit data entry and patient follow-up. This nurse will also serve as a key communicator between Dr. Bacino, the research coordinator team, and the sponsor, Ascendis.

Job Duties

• Serves as a liaison and distributes research information to faculty, research staff, principle investigator, and others as required.
• Follow subjects' progress as indicated by the protocol and advises the Principal Investigator accordingly.
• Provides training and guidance to research nurses and other research personnel and serves as a resource to staff.
• Maintains patient charts and medical records. Ensures the protocol(s) are compliant with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to oversight of monitor visits.
• Administers study medications as indicated by the Principal Investigator.
• Educates patients according to Principal Investigator's instructions.
• Recruits, screens, enrolls, and evaluates patients that participate in Ascendis Research Studies.
• Schedules study visits by communicating with the appropriate Texas Children's Departments.
• Performs ross coverage within Dr. Bacino's research team as needed.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment.
• Collects study specimens and check patient vital signs during patient visits.
• Stocks and orders supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Two years of relevant experience as a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
