Research Lab Technician I

A position is available immediately for a motivated research technician to assist in zebrafish genetics experiments. The work performed will focus on patterning and regeneration of the craniofacial skeleton, in particular using the CRISPR/Cas9 system to create new mutants and knock-in alleles and transgenesis to make new reporter lines. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designing and preparing reagents for CRISPR/Cas9 work
Genotyping zebrafish strains
Propagating transgenic, mutant, and wild-type zebrafish strains
Injection of embryos to make transgenic and mutant zebrafish
Performing skeletal histological stains
Preparing chemical solutions and lab reagents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences
Previous experience in a molecular biology lab (zebrafish preferred)
Ability to interact well with others
Good organizational skills and an eye for detail are essential

The hourly range for this position is $20.48 - $26.87.
