Job Summary
Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Research Administrator to manage pre-award activities for the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Critical Care. This is a primarily fully remote from states of CT, RI, MA, NH, ME with opportunities to come in to the office for team building activities. This position has established career growth ladder and provides a good work/life balance. The department has a professional development budget, to reimburse attendance at professional conferences and continuing education.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in grant close out, this includes but not limited to close out of purchase orders, subcontract invoices, ensuring publications are in compliant with the NIH Publication Access Policy, patent statements, and other tasks as required
  • Assist in processing purchase orders, invoices and check request
  • Assist/updating the shared resource documents for the divisions, maintain grant submission and active grant lists, Conflict of Interest (COI) training and Citi training records and Responsible Conduct Research (RCR) Training lists
  • Coordinate, prepare, and submit grant applications; budget development; coordinating required institutional reviews and approvals
  • Other projects or tasks as assigned
  • Initiate submission records and tracking application status in the Children’s Hospital e Research Portal (CHeRP)
  • Assist with effort reporting, biosketches, updating other support pages and request eRA commons ID and Orchid ID for both divisions for Faculty, Jr. Faculty, Postdoctoral fellows and internal/external collaborators
  • Work with Principal Investigators to ensure timely submission of funding proposals for federal, state, corporate, and private foundation sponsored funds

Qualifications:

  • Work must be accurate as financial/grant consequences for the divisions are significant and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Pre-award experience preferred with an open mind to do post-award tasks in the future
  • Ability to work independently and a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree AND 2 years of research administrative related experience
  • Strong experience with Federal Grants and knowledge working with NIH application system.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to multitask to handle multiple priorities and simultaneous deadlines, and to independently seek out answers from the appropriate grant, publication and/or other resource.
