The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform functions requiring intermediate knowledge of distributed energy systems (solar systems) and use of control applications, standards, and document control processes/procedures in support of remote operations

As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. In roles like Engineers, Technicians, and Skilled Specialists you will be engaged with exciting projects across the globe. From small community improvements to grand-scale Mega Projects, you will be Building a World of Difference through infrastructure growth and development while learning and focusing on your own individual development. The foundation of BV Operations provides the ability to move where your skills are needed and allows for a collaborative and innovative culture offering greater challenges and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with multiple parties for identification, diagnosis and resolution of site operations and maintenance problems, including the site O&M team, site owner, regulatory agencies, and B&V leadership.
  • Ability to work shift-work.
  • Assist with Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) teams using predictive analytics for proactive monitoring of power generation, renewables, process industries and distributed generation assets.
  • Follow scheduled energy dispatch instructions.
  • Ability to engage in multiple aspects of ROC responsibilities.
  • Real-time operations of distributed asset power generation technologies in Remote Operations Center (ROC.)
  • Develop processes and procedures for both site-specific projects and the Remote Operations Center.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years of related work experience
  • Control Room Operator experience preferred
  • Previous Operations experience related to Battery Storage, Solar, Wind, Simple Cycle Thermal Generation, or Combined Cycle Thermal Generation
  • Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles
  • Associate Degree or trades/vocational experience
  • Basic industry knowledge and technology trends
  • Diploma or Certificate preferred
  • Basic knowledge of NERC responsibilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Power Plant systems and Processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate work may count as related work experience if directly applicable to job function.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
  • Minimum total of 3 years of related work experience is typically necessary to move into this level.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Typical office environment in our Remote Operations Center. Physical Demands: Sitting, talking, grasping, hearing, keyboard input, driving, seeing, writing, reaching, stooping, crouching, walking, standing for extended periods of time.
