The Opportunity
This position works out of our Sylmar, CA , location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. The Remote Care Technician is responsible for performing root-cause analysis and upgrades on high quality medical device hardware and systems. This position includes detailed assembly and testing of various electronic components and finished devices.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Maintain inventory levels and provide inventory counts when required.
- Perform root-cause analysis, repair, upgrades and testing of product and systems that return from the field, documenting all work on Service Reports.
- Process Return Material Authorization (RMA) receiving equipment into the Service Depot.
- Bilingual (English/French Required. Excellent Communication in Both English and French
- Complete all necessary service documentation required for returned product.
- Provide assistance in the authorizing of technical documents related to the repair, upgrade or testing of returned product.
- Assist in maintaining organization within the Service Depot.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- Ability to interface with multiple groups in the organization to resolve service issues.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Fiber optic splicing a plus
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Previous experience in a medical device company preferred
- Language Proficiency French and English
- Exceptional troubleshooting ability
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Works well independently
- PC experience a must
- Mechanical assembly, able to work with tools
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Good organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Overall positive and optimistic attitude.
- Soldering skills
- Technical writing skills are a plus
- Physical ability to lift 30 pounds overhead
- Occasional overtime is a requirement of this position.
