Hospital/Healthcare reimbursement experience and proficiency with various software solutions and systems, including Syntellis/Kaufman Halls, Axiom and Strata highly desirable.

You’ve got them both covered.Your in-depth expertise in developing and implementing strategic and tactical budget/reimbursement initiatives to drive improvements, sharpen productivity and achieve operational efficiencies makes you an asset to our diverse community hospital financial position.


In this key leadership role, you’ll use your analytical problem-solving skills and strong business acumen to prepare all cost and statistical reports related to cost finding and rate-setting to ensure the appropriate control of expenses and to satisfy accounting and rate evaluation programs of the Hospital, State, third party payors and regulating agencies. Focusing on optimizing revenue cycle management to achieve maximum reimbursement, you’ll:


  • Oversee the reimbursement-related accounting, general ledger, and journal entry processes for the preparation of monthly financial statements and review of PIP accounts
  • Manage all Wage Index, Occupational Mix data, and IRIS schedules for Institutional Cost Report
  • Prepare financial and statistical reports for third party providers; manage timely preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports to ensure compliance with governmental regulations
  • Work closely with hospital administration, financial auditors, and outside consultants to review, analyze and resolve billing issues, appeals submissions, and recommend/implement changes


As the hospital’s subject matter expert on budget and reimbursement, you must have:

  • Significant knowledge of reimbursement methodologies, budgeting, and cost accounting
  • PC proficiency and effective communication and people skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA helpful
  • Proven ability to be decisive, resolve issues and deliver on commitments and deadlines
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressively responsible experience in healthcare financial related field, including 4 years in hospital reimbursement and cost reporting
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare industry practices and regulations
  • Experience in thepreparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
