Registrar/ Receptionist- 10 Hours A Week!

Position Summary

• Out-patient receptionist and switchboard operator. Cross training for registration, outpatient lab and x-ray!

Qualifications

Education/ Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Proficient computer skills required.

• Ability to work independently carrying out various activities with minimal supervision.

Other Requirements: Previous experience working in a clinical setting and/or experience with scheduling software is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance is desirable. Excellent customer service skills. Maintains a cooperative professional working relationship with staff including but not limited to medical staff, and other departments, as well as outside agencies, community members and our patients.

RELATIONSHIPS

Supervision received: Director of Clinical Administrative Services

Supervises: None

Other relationships: Patients, visitors, hospital and clinic personnel, and the community-at-large

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION– CRITERIA III

• Handles telephone calls.
• Completes other duties as assigned by Practice Office Director.
• Opens and/or closes the office.
• Schedules appointments.
• Collects copays and/or payments, provides receipts and runs end-of-day report.
• Requests and obtains insurance cards and photo IDs, scans copies into the electronic system.
• Collects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• Demonstrates the ability to properly use the phone and computer systems, fax machines, photocopies, scanners, printers and other business machinery.
• Supports providers and nursing staff with patient check in/out process and administration needs.
• Supports patients with administrative process.
• Manages the waiting room.
• Obtains consents and necessary documents.
