Job Details


A prestigious educational institution is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Registrar. The Registrar will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs (SVPAA) and will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the management of student academic records. Key responsibilities include maintaining student records in compliance with regulations, providing assistance to students and staff, ensuring smooth office operations, and staying updated on student record procedures and FERPA regulations.


The Registrar will also play a vital role in implementing and executing academic policies and procedures, particularly in relation to academic records, credit evaluation, and placement. Monitoring the university's student information system for compliance and recommending processing policy changes based on system capabilities will be an essential part of the role.


This position offers eligibility for various university-sponsored employee benefit plans and programs. The salary range for this role is $70-75K, commensurate with experience and qualifications.


Responsibilities


Supervise and lead a team, fostering innovation, process improvement, and efficiency to provide excellent support to the institution.


Direct daily office operations and oversee departmental planning and implementation.


Ensure compliance with academic, regulatory, and accreditation policies in the collection, maintenance, and reporting of student records.


Administer academic policies and regulations, interpreting them for faculty, staff, students, and parents. Propose necessary changes based on regulatory guidance and provide accurate and efficient communication to staff.


Interpret and ensure compliance with recordkeeping standards, college policies, and procedures, as well as AACRAO and FERPA regulations.


Provide academic counseling to students and faculty advisors, assisting them in understanding curriculum requirements.


Generate reports, including semester enrollment reports, IPEDS reporting, and data submissions to the National Student Clearinghouse and the US Military.


Oversee degree audits, transfer credit evaluations, articulation agreements, and graduation certification processes.


Participate in committees related to curriculum, educational planning, commencement, and academic policy appeals.


Edit the annual catalog to incorporate approved curriculum and policy changes.


Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Minimum bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree preferred.


Strong Attention To Detail, Analytical Skills, And Problem-solving Abilities.


Proficiency in computer literacy, word processing, data files, and databases.


Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with students, alumni, institutions, and government agencies.


Strong orientation toward academic and student services.


Progressive experience in a Student Services office, preferably at a Coordinator or Assistant Registrar level.


Physical Requirements


Close vision, clear speech, and good hearing/listening skills.


Dexterity to work with computers and office equipment.


Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and perform various physical movements.


Comfort working in an office environment and engaging in verbal and face-to-face interactions.


Proficient reading and writing skills for handling complex tasks.
