Registered Nurse (Rn) - Obgyn - Clinical Coordinator

The Registered Nurse – Clinical Coordinator will assist physicians in all treatments and procedures, perform preoperative patient interviews and assessments including pre-op instructions, post-operative patient care and instructions, prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with standards.
The working location is in a private practice that is affiliated with a large healthcare organizations OB/GYN.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
What You Would Be Doing

• Ensure all medications and injections are logged and accounted for
• Ensuring that Medical Assistants are updated with new medical procedures and techniques
• Monitor use and ordering of equipment, surgical instruments, and supplies
• Triage calls and advise appropriate clinicians when necessary
• Prepare and administer prescribed medication in accordance with standards
• Works closely with the Site Manager regarding administrative matters
• Work closely with the Site Manager, Senior Manager of Process Improvement and Practice Operations, Medical Director of Outpatient Practices, Site Director and Clinical Nurse Director ensuring all competencies and clinical responsibilities are completed accurately
• Participates in performance improvement activities and staff education
• Assist in improving and maintaining the existing laboratory and pathology tracking system
• Observe, report and record patients condition, reaction to drugs and treatment, compile and record all patient laboratory information
• Assist physicians during clinical procedures, and department specific therapies
• Weekly maintenance of equipment and medications/supplies for emergency carts
• Track and monitor risk management incidents, medication errors and other patient safety issues
• Other duties as assigned
• Record patient histories and vital signs, venipuncture, injections, and collect/prep specimens
• Maintain precise records of all specimens obtained and sent for testing

What The Qualifications Are:

• Current licensure maintained
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Requires a bachelors degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
• Ability to be a team player and work independently in a busy environment
• Excellent organizational abilities and computer skills
• Must have a current New York State Registered Nurse License and maintain and renew as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years outpatient OB/GYN clinical experience
• ACLS
• 2-4 years of OB/GYN experience and knowledge of medical terminology
