UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a .75% DAYS,, REGISTERED NURSE at the PRE-ANESTHESIA CLINIC. The Registered Nurse is a licensed practitioner who uses the nursing process to provide patient care. This includes exercising independent nursing judgment in managing the care of patients with complex health problem(s) and collaborating with patient, family and other healthcare providers/disciplines to optimize the patient’s return to health and promote independence in self-care. Supervises and coordinates the work of ancillary healthcare personnel.

SCHEDULE
Part time days.

Responsibilities:
Develops a written plan of care including measurable expected outcomes, monitors and evaluates the patient’s responses, documents interventions, evaluates progress, and revises the plan of care as necessary
Provides safe, therapeutic, cost-effective patient care
Provides direct patient care to an assigned group of patients
Administers medications, starts IVs, performs bedside tests, procedures, and treatments
Collects, records, and analyzes assessment data such as patient health data, diagnoses, responses and problems, vital signs, imaging and lab results, etc
Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of infection/exposure control plans, medication safety, safe lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment

Requirements
Current unrestricted WA license
One year of ICU experience or prior PACU, Phase I and Phase 2
ACLS and PALS required
