Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse OR Circulator RN to join our dynamic team in the Operating Room department. As a vital member of our surgical team, you will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care throughout surgical procedures. Your expertise in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care will contribute to positive patient outcomes in the operating room setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Educate patients and their families on any necessary post-operative care instructions or precautions.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that the environment is safe and sterile throughout procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized operating room, ensuring proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
• Provide post-operative care, including monitoring patients in the recovery room and assisting with their transition to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives within the operating room.
• Administer medications, including anesthesia, as directed by the physician or anesthesiologist.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, documenting and reporting any significant changes to the surgical team.
• Assist in patient positioning and provide necessary support during surgeries or procedures.
• Document all patient information, interventions, and outcomes accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare the operating room by sterilizing instruments, equipment, and ensuring all required supplies are available and in proper working condition.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and patient positioning.
• Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to prioritize and make critical decisions in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Minimum of [X] years of experience as an OR Circulator RN preferred.
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and completion of operating room orientation program.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
