As a triage nurse in ambulatory cardiology, you will work in invasive areas such as our in non-invasive areas such as echo, stress & ECG. You will be part of a high functioning team that consists of skilled technicians, expert physicians & fellows. The UVM Medical Center Cardiology department strives to be on the leading edge of technology; we serve as the STEMI center for Vermont providing results well above the national averages.
Our RNs in Invasive/Non-invasive Cardiology are responsible for providing direct care to:
  • Patients being treated with PCI, TAVR, Mitral Clip, implantable devices, ablations, Watchman, noninvasive testing including echo, stress and ecg’s.
  • Patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, valve disease and arrhythmias.
Our nurses are provided with continual education through weekly educational programs, access & training to the newest technology and innovations, extensive hands-on training, and educational conferences. Our nurses also have the opportunity to advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
Additional Staff Nurse info:
  • Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
  • Greater than one year of experience.
  • State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.
  • Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge. May take charge as operational need allows.
