About this Position:

This position Oversees the security operations of over half of the Honda Associate U.S. population, continuing our efforts to promote a safe and secure workplace for all associates. Responsibilities include facilitating, conducting, and managing comprehensive Corporate Security daily operations, budget, threat assessments, and process improvements. Serves as the main security contact for MAP, ELP, AEP, PMC, ADC, TMP-O, IAP and other Northern Region facilities in partnership with the Associate Services/Corporate Security Leadership.


Responsibilities include:

  • DEVELOP CROSS FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH VENDOR AND INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING PROCUREMENT, AND OTHER AREAS FOR JUDICIOUS, COMPLIANT, MANAGEMENT OF CONTRACT SECURITY SERVICES BUDGET(S). EFFECTIVELY MANAGE CAPITAL AND EXPENSE BUDGETS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NAIP, CORPORATE FACILITIES AND OTHER ENTITIES.
  • REVIEW OF DAILY/MONTHLY INCIDENT REPORTS AND KPIS FROM ALL NORTHERN REGION HONDA FACILITIES. INITIATES FOLLOW UP WITH VENDORS AND DIRECT REPORTS AS NECESSARY. MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROVIDES SUPPORT TO SECURITY PERSONNEL ON INVESTIGATIONS AND POLICY MANAGEMENT.
  • MANAGEMENT OF ALL SECURITY RELATED PROGRAMS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE NORTHERN REGION. WITH A STRONG SERVICE MINDSET, IDENTIFIES AND SHARES SECURITY RELATED BEST PRACTICES AND OPPORTUNITIES WITH CUSTOMER(S). WORKS AS REGIONAL EXPERT ON SITE LAYOUT/SECURITY MEASURES FOR ASSIGNED NORTH REGION LOCATIONS. ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH BUSINESS UNITS TO ENSURE SECURITY NEEDS ARE MET. THROUGH REGULAR, SITE-SPECIFIC TOUCH POINTS, GATHERS CUSTOMER SENTIMENT, CONVEYS SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO RELEVANT MANAGEMENT AND EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP. LEVERAGE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS (I.E. HONDA CROSS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND LAW ENFORCEMENT).
  • COLLABORATE WITH HR, LEGAL, OPERATIONS TO IMPLEMENT BEST PRACTICES THAT FIT WITH HONDA OPERATIONS. FACILITATE EFFECTIVE RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TRAINING, POLICY AND PROCEDURE ALIGNED WITH INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES UTILIZING SOLID BUSINESS ACUMEN AND TECHNICAL WRITING SKILLS.
  • ENSURES SITE COMPLIANCE WITH A VARIETY OF REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES. ATTEND SECURITY TRAINING SEMINARS AND BRIEFINGS WITH U.S GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO GATHER CURRENT REGULATIONS / EVENTS TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE AND ASSESS THE TRAJECTORY OF CORPORATE SECURITY PROGRAMMING. STAY ABREAST OF THE LATEST SECURITY RISKS AND MITIGATION STRATEGIES BY BENCHMARKING OTHER OEMS AND MANUFACTURING COMPANIES TO ENSURE HONDA REMAINS AT THE FOREFRONT OF SECURITY BEST PRACTICES. LEADS AND SUMMARIZES REGULAR AUDIT FINDINGS.
  • FOCUSES ON DEVELOPING SELF AND OTHERS THROUGH CONTINUOUS TRAINING AND SELF-IMPROVEMENT. RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSOCIATE DEVELOPMENT, PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT FOR DIRECT REPORTS IN THE NORTHERN REGION.

Who we are seeking:


Required Work Experience:

  • MUST HAVE STRONG BACKGROUND IN INTERVIEW AND INVESTIGATION TECHNIQUES
  • MUST HAVE FAMILIARITY WITH CRITICAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT (NIMS - NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM), UNIFIED COMMAND STRUCTURE
  • MUST HAVE SECURITY/RISK ANALYSIS EXPERTISE
  • 3+ YEARS OF SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE
  • 7 YEARS MINIMUM EXPERIENCE MANAGING / DIRECTING SECURITY OPERATIONS
  • MUST HAVE PC SKILLS INCLUDING MS OFFICE APPLICATIONS

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Security or related field or relevant equivalent work experience

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to handle pressure and people problems effectively and with a service-oriented approach
  • Ability to lead and motivate professional and support staff
  • Knowledge in all legal aspects of security operations, contract negotiations and procurement skills

Additional Position Factors:

  • Physically must be able to navigate safely through industrial settings
  • Work hours vary to support business operations (may include weekends and/or holidays)
  • Travel required 25%
