Recreation Program Manager Jobs

The City of O'Fallon is looking for a self-motivated, customer-service oriented team member for the position of Recreation Program Manager. This position plays an important role in the coordination of several areas of the recreation programming for the City of O'Fallon. Our Recreation Program Managers earn competitive salaries from $ 61,297.60 to $ 91,936.00 with midpoint control ($76,627.20). Your expected starting salary is $61,297.60 ro $76,627.20, dependent upon experience and qualifications. We're looking for someone who has the desire to use their strong management skills to oversee all aspects of the operations and recreation programs in multiple areas. This person should have knowledge of the management of recreation facilities, including recreation program development and implementation. He or she should also have the flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, and be able to respond after hour emergencies.

As a Recreation Program Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Creating, monitoring and assessing recreation program budgets for assigned areas.
• Developing all formal bids for programs and projects.
• Developing, organizing, managing and evaluating recreation programs and special events in multiple areas.
• Recommending policy and operational improvements.
• Responding to and assisting staff in managing customer complaints and concerns.
• Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, supervising, disciplining and evaluating assigned full and part time personnel.
• Compiling, analyzing, reporting and maintaining program, staffing and financial data.
• Assisting in overseeing the operations of the recreational complex, as assigned.
• Responding to after-hours emergencies.
• Coordinating required training events for assigned areas.

Applicants must:

• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional Certification preferred
• Be able to obtain a first-aid/CPR card
• Possess knowledge and a level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree
• Have previous supervisory experience, preferably 5 years or more, experience in youth programming is a plus
• Possess a valid Missouri State driver's license
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain State Childcare License
• Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays or other irregular hours, as required
