Responds to requests for information; provides information to other recreation program managers and organizations; researches recreation issues, and recommends solutions.

General knowledge of learned procedures, practices, and routines to work with youth

Leads and directs activities for adult recreation at recreation facilities

Develops, implements, and evaluates a variety of programs and events

Provides training for seasonal staff and volunteers

Supervises participants in both indoor and outdoor settings

Help older adults learn and use digital tools, increase their skills and stay connected and thrive in the digital age

Be reliable and have good communication skills

Education: Ability to read and write

Experience: Some work experience as leader/instructor in one or more specialized recreation activities

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

Five years of progressively responsible experience in a mental health care rehabilitation related setting is required. Prior management experience is preferred.

Licensure or certification as a mental health provider in the state of Maryland is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Health Sciences, or a related discipline is required.

BS/BA degree in security, law enforcement, or management related fields, and/or equivalent training and experience.

Track and schedule annual physicals, drug screening, security registrations, and certifications per contract requirements.

Bachelors Degree in Recreation Management, Public Administration or equivalent is required.

Manages assigned budget and special projects.

Five (5) years' experience operating recreation facilities and/or administering athletic, aquatic or youth programming is required.

Coordinates and conducts special projects and related duties as assigned.

Leads and demonstrates high quality customer service and assist with other parks and recreation programs as needed.

Trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel.
