About The Position

The Records Processor plays a vital role in taking on the responsibility for the lifecycle of each case file within the office, opening, researching, updating, and closing each file. This role requires exceptional team working skills and the ability to meet daily deadlines with a focus on accuracy to ensure that the proper information is available in a timely manner to the attorneys representing our clients.

We Require


  • Two years of administrative or clerical experience
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
  • High school diploma or GED


We Also Value


  • Previous work experience in a law office, court, criminal justice, or indigent defense setting
  • Experience working with the court or legal records


Job Contributions


  • Act as a backup for receptionist, answer multi-line telephone, screen and transfer calls, take messages, greet, and direct visitors
  • Answer inquiries and assists customers with requests for electronic or physical case files or records
  • Review, file, and process electronic and paper documents
  • Update case files, court calendars, and case management systems using information received from courts and staff
  • Serve as backup to other Justice System Clerk positions, as needed
  • Prepare physical or electronic files for appropriate dissemination, including dividing, sorting, redacting, and scanning
  • Maintain electronic and physical records and file, sort, merge, and divide documents according to established guidelines
  • Box and transport files for destruction or for long-term storage


Working Conditions


  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to work with traumatic subject matter (crime scenes, accidents, etc.)
