Responsibilities


Education Practice Area


  • Reading Language Arts Curriculum Leader (Grades 6 - 12) will manage the revision road mapping process, as well as oversee teams through a rapid content revision process to ensure the overall coherence of the 6 – 12 RLA curriculum
  • PCG’s Education Consulting service line seeks a Reading Language Arts Curriculum Leader (Grades 6 - 12) for a highly complex and exciting Reading Language Arts (RLA) curriculum revision project
  • The position is remote, with occasional in-person meetings
  • The project provides a motivated person with a career opportunity to support educators and students in actualizing the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and to be responsive to stakeholder feedback on the resources available in Texas Home Learning


Specific Responsibilities


  • Ensure on-time delivery of deliverables by vendor partner(s) and their writing teams
  • In coordination with our vendor partner(s), lead the development of a Grades 6 – 8 Reading Language Arts curriculum, and the revision of a Grades 9 – 12 Reading Language Arts curriculum, including program-level, course-level, unit-level, and lesson-level material
  • Contribute to the collection and analysis of stakeholder feedback to inform the development of the product roadmap
  • Collaborate with project management team to ensure that established project management processes and structures are appropriately implemented
  • Collaborate with project team to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of the RLA curriculum (K–12)
  • Availability during regular work week, with some night or weekend work as needed
  • Work closely with vendor partners and project leadership in a rapid development process, including coordinating workflow where their involvement is required and engaging them in quality assurance to ensure alignment to the review rubrics provided by the client
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of instructional and technical specifications and oversee adherence to the specifications that will be documented in the product roadmap
  • Commitment for the duration of the project with anticipated project completion in October 2024 with the opportunity for future work project assignments
  • In coordination with our vendor partner(s), provide leadership for the writing teams in the implementation of instructional and technical specifications, as well as overall quality assurance. This may include offering review and actionable feedback, both written and verbal, to teams about content


Education/Experience


Qualifications


  • Experience teaching diverse learners in elementary classroom(s), including English Language Learners and students with disabilities
  • Master's Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, and additional academic rewards
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Word
  • Able to work with a diverse range of people
  • Experience with digital learning instructional design (Preferred but not required )
  • Experience developing curricular resources for use by other teachers
  • Experience with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and STAAR Assessments
  • 3+ years of team leadership experience
  • Familiarity with the current 9 – 12 RLA product on Texas Home Learning (Preferred but not required)
  • Proficient with Office 365 and the Google Suite
  • Familiarity with Google Drive


Required Skills


  • Knowledgeable about translation (i.e., expressing Spanish content in English), transadaptation (i.e., when expressing English content in Spanish, adapting a concept to be authentic to Spanish), and transcreation (approach that keeps a unit topic/theme, as well as the reading and writing skills, but changes the texts studied and lesson activities to study authentic Spanish texts, specifically in Grades 6

Compensation


Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $53,876 - $125,000.
