Job Summary:
Provide support in handling customer service interface with railroads, inter company employees and terminal level. Tasks typically include EDI billing, track and trace, troubleshooting concerns, monitoring supplier invoices, file customs documents, have an understand on Barge and Rail Demurrage. May work on special projects as needed. Ability to understand business and operate/maintain the business systems applications.
Job Responsibilities:
· Customer Service: interface with railroads daily on car movement/dwell time
· Track railcars throughput, including missing, bad order, delayed railcars
· Rail/Barge invoice – assist Rail and Barge managers on invoice reconciliations (product, storage, empty revenue, switch fees, diversions)
· Assist with updating ShipXpress/Kaleris our 3rd party transportation and asset management system.
· Place car orders with first class carriers, protect cars at interchange, maintain track and trace on all cars assigned to open orders. Update traders twice a week, daily updates to terminals.
· Place EDI billing on railcars out of Kaleris on all first class, origin switch, and delivery switch carrier
· Prepare/File customs documents for railcar clearance
· Update Rail Fuel Surcharge
· Update Rail Rates sheet
· Request Mobile Repair Unit to service bad order cars
· Send daily demurrage trace to customers, respond with questions/concerns on movement/car placement
· Track and trace update track and trace daily with Supplier cars for inbound terminal visibility
· Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments
· Barge back up – enter contracts into SAP, update barge tracking system, support procurement with questions/concerns
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
· Ability to work at a very detailed level
· Ability to work and interact well with others
· Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills required, Access skills a plus
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Strong customer service commitment
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
· Ability to maintain confidential information
· Strong communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to work overtime hours as needed
· 1 + years’ experience in logistics preferred
· Prior experience with accounts receivable or collections preferred
· Professional work experience in related field preferred
