UW Primary Care is a network of 16- Community-based clinics throughout the Puget Sound region. The clinics offer a wide spectrum of primary care services, as well as secondary care, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Urgent care services are offered seven days a week at select locations. UW PRIMARY CARE - BALLARD has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100%, 40 hours per week), day shift, RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST (Imaging Technologist) . The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures as directed by a clinic provider and contributes to the development and evaluation of radiology processes and procedures. Ensures compliance with all UWNC and regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares patients for radiological procedures. Verifies the site of the exam and instructs patients regarding procedures.
  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures. Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on an individual patient basis.
  • Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Examines radiology images for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Delivers images to PACS for reading/ interpretation by providers and UW Radiologists
  • Maintains radiology room Stocks necessary medical and radiology supplies.
  • Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiological equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • REQUIREMENTS
    Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school and eligible for registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry completed before completion of probationary period OR equivalent education/experience
    BENEFICAL EXPERIENCE
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training course and 8 hours of AIDS education.
  • At least one year of experience as a radiologic technologist
  • Demonstrated computer experience, preferably in a Windows-based environment.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory and/or phlebotomy experience
