What We Need:


iHeartMedia has a rare opening for a seasoned anchor/reporter on multiple stations (including KFYI) in multiple markets throughout the Southwest. Employee will also perform in-house reporting duties, produce content for national wire service and perform general newsroom assignments Candidates should have high standards for audio quality, strong on-air presentation skills and the ability to write radio broadcast style copy.


What You'll Do:


Responsibilities:


  • May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed.
  • Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
  • Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations.
  • Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift.
  • Write clear, concise news copy.
  • Anchor newscasts for multiple markets.


Qualifications:


  • Proficient in media production and broadcast systems
  • Extensive "on-air" background - this is not a position for beginners.
  • Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi task in a fast-paced environment


Work Experience


  • 3+ years’ experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station


Education


  • 4-year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications
