Job Description
The RF Engineer will be supporting multiple C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) programs.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Establish plans, process, and how-to guides (e.g., production, testing, fielding, training, sustainment), train personnel, execute and manage efforts
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria compliant with engineering best practices and DoD directives and policies
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose best of breed products, materials, and manufacturing processes supported by detailed analysis of alternatives levied by cost, schedule, performance, and risk (including mitigation strategies)
  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables and their compliance with System Requirements Document (SRD), System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) and Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Maintain close coordination with vendor product managers and keep stakeholders apprised of product obsolescence forecasts and events
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and support to iGov departments, e.g., product sales, business development, logistics, production, etc.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify products based on hardware and software requirements/specifications


Essential Required Experience & Skills:
  • 1 year experience as overall technical lead for development, operations, testing, integration, or fielding of complex radio and network systems
  • 4 years’ experience in architecting, engineering, and developing radio and network solutions, preferably in a tactical environment
  • Astute observer with effective root cause identification and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of SEIT (Systems Engineering, Integration and Test) process
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • At least 2 years of Tactical Air Control Part (TACP) experience and/or Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) certification
  • At least 2 years of direct, hands-on Tactical Communications or Tactical Information Technology (IT) experience
  • Team player able to work collaboratively with and through others

  • ISO and CMMI
  • IBM® Engineering Requirements Management DOORS
  • AFI 99-103 – USAF Capabilities-Based Test and Evaluation
  • AFSSI-7702 – USAF Emission Security Countermeasures
  • Hands-on experience
  • MIL-STD-1472G – Design Criteria Standard for Human Engineering
  • AFSSI 7700 – USAF Communications and Information Emission Security
  • MIL-STD-882E – DoD System Safety
  • Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) certification a plus.

Educational Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or related discipline
