Storm2 is currently partnered with a high-growth global quantitative trading firm based in Chicago. The company develops and employ quantitative trading algorithms in exchange-traded financial assets like stocks and other securities.

The company is looking to onboard a Research Developer to be part of the research team in charge of creating the Firm’s portfolio of automated electronic trading techniques from beginning to conclusion. The research developer will use C++ or Python programming languages to design, engineer, and build the Firm’s research and trading software.

Responsibilities

He or she will work closely with the platform development team in order to architect, implement and analyze new automated electronic trading strategies and play a key role in building and engineering the Firm’s research software to support new exchanges, products, and functionality. More specific duties will include:

• Implement new trading strategies.
• Conduct performance optimization of the firm’s research platform.
• Maintaining and extending the firm’s core research platform software.
• Maintain, enhance, and grow the Firm’s portfolio of automated electronic strategies within the platform.
• Design, implement, and maintain software for strategy optimization, post-trade analysis, and strategy PnL performance investigation, and visualization.

Requirements

• Knowledge of machine learning and data science in the field of financial services.
• Familiarity with building monitoring systems.
• Expert knowledge of C++.
• Strong understanding of automated electronic trading strategies.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
