Quantitative Research - Fx / Commodity Ecommerce - Associate

We are seeking a talented professional to join the Quantitative Research Macro LQR team in New York focused on the FX and Commodity linear electronic trading business.
TCM, market impact, execution models, pricing, inventory management and queue position are examples of what a team member will research, develop, implement, and collaborate on.
Job summary:

Relevant education would be in the areas of Financial Mathematics and Computer Science. Well qualified engineers, scientists and other candidates are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidate is expected to share in a balanced mixture of responsibilities, including model research and development, model documentation, pricing and risk investigation, product-specific analysis, software development and discussions with the trading desk.
Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research using internal and external sources.
• Explain model behavior to traders and control functions, carry out scenario analysis, provide guidance / debug analytics.
• Develop models and analytics using python, java, and q/kdb.
• Support electronic trading (market making and algo execution) in FX and Commodities.
• Rapid prototyping of models and products; benchmark and compare results of various techniques.
• Write well-formulated documents of model specification and implementation testing.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Strong software development skills in Python and Java
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• PhD or Masters degree from top tier schools/programs in Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Discipline to reliably convert research into pragmatic business facing solutions
• Excellence in numerical analysis, optimization, statistics and machine learning

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Experience working with large data sets
• Experience with q/kdb
• Knowledge of FX or Commodity in electronic trading space
