Overview
Join AIR as a Quantitative Research Associate with our International Development Division (IDD) and make a difference, improving the quality of life for individuals and communities in low and middle income countries. AIR’s IDD work spans the globe with projects in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, Central and Latin America, and the Middle East.
AIR is currently seeking a Quantitative Research Associate to join our International Development Division. The position offers an opportunity to gain first-hand quantitative data management and research experience on exciting evaluations of development programs. AIR’s International Development Division (IDD) strives to improve the quality of life in developing countries by using rigorous research and evaluation to enhance education and social development. We apply social and behavioral science approaches to work across a wide range of topics including social protection, human capital and education, labor markets and workforce development, agriculture, food and nutrition, early childhood development, refugees and migration, gender in development, and water/sanitation/infrastructure. We work in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, Central and Latin America as well as the Middle East. The IDD generates policy-relevant evidence through rigorous monitoring, evaluations, and research; helps improve program design through continuous learning and adaptation; and works with local organizations and governments to build sustainable solutions based on evidence.

Candidates hired for this position can work remotely based in the United States or can work from any one of AIR's United State office locations .

Responsibilities
The responsibilities for the position include:
  • Utilize external resources to supplement, organize, and contribute to tasks and projects
  • Work on moderately complex assignments under indirect supervision
  • Conduct literature reviews and write sections of proposals and deliverables
  • Responsible for maintaining and checking the accuracy of data for assigned projects
  • Perform computer modeling or simulation for simple to moderately complex forecasting using standard software packages
  • Collect, compile, validate, interpret, and analyze data and trends using standard practices and techniques
  • Communicate project support needs and requests to senior management and clientele, provide administrative support where applicable
  • The Quantitative Research Associate provides statistical and analytical support, responsibilities include:
  • Apply quantitative analysis techniques and methods
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Experience with STATA
  • Experience living or working in other countries strongly preferred but not required
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2 years of experience or Master’s degree in such fields as social sciences, statistics, quantitative methods or related field
Skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluent French and English speaker with strong cross-cultural written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on detailed assignments
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds

Disclosures:

AIR’s Total Rewards Program , is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $58,240 to $74,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
