Job Description

Quality Technician


The Quality Technician will be responsible for maintaining high quality process and procedure to ensure optimal manufacturing. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in fast-paced environments. He/she must have the ability to work with and communicate with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate for this position takes pride in his/her hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail. Shift:

A Shift - 7AM-7PM, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday

B Shift - 7AM-7PM, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday

D Shift - 7PM-7AM, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification and resolution of incoming material and manufacturing quality issues, contain parts or products as needed, sort parts for quality requirements.
  • Anticipate potential problems and take preventative action.
  • Take part in an ongoing optimization of the products with respect to both cost and production technology.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability feedback to Engineering as well as participate in DFM reviews.
  • Maintain quality performance metrics and drive issues to root cause solutions.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, with manufacturing.
  • Utilize product quality plans and control plans.
  • Support FMEA activities to ensure design and manufacturing issues are identified and risks mitigated.
  • Monitor quality, Assist with the determination of the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions and countermeasures.
  • Analyze and interpret data independently.
  • Process and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) as required.
  • Work with Supply Quality Engineering and Suppliers to maintain adherence to specifications that support production requirements.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to have a process that meets the product specification and tolerance
  • Analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board.
  • Audit manufacturing line against released manufacturing processes and procedures.


Requirements

  • Ability to use technological tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data.
  • Ability to operate relevant personal computing hardware and standard software.
  • Strong aptitude with electronic electronic and manual test and measurement systems..
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc highly desire
  • Proficiency at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Experienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed.
  • 3+ years experience within quality systems in a high volume manufacturing environment.
