HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Supervises QC personnel and day-to-day quality issues of components and finished goods. Negotiates / communicates quality standards with suppliers, customers, and engineers on a routine basis. Demonstrates ability in geometry, trigonometry, and interpretation of ANSI Y14.5 standards. Requires strong organization and communication skills. Assignments are complex and require independent action and decision making.

Reports to the Manufacturing Director.

Achievement of objectives must include an over-riding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Works with purchasing to develop dock-to-stock criteria for suppliers.
• Ensures that quality results are properly collected, reported, and retained.
• Oversees the establishment and maintenance of documentation files and lot control to characterize product quality.
• Prepares reports of returned products and recommends corrective action.
• Supervises QC personnel. Includes scheduling workload, employee development, and training.
• Participates in periodic scrap reviews and analyzes materials as required.
• Works to improve the efficiency of inspection and to reduce the cost of quality.
• Works to improve efficiency of inspection and strives to reduce the cost of quality.
• Participates in the evaluation and qualification process of potential new suppliers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

ASME or 10 years’ experience in a quality role.

CMM programming – Mitutoyo, Zeiss calypso or , Hexagon
