Overview:

This is a Part-Time position. The Quality Improvement Specialist works directly with organizational leaders and multi-disciplinary teams to support quality improvement projects. The specialist will also model and teach the principles of quality improvement throughout the organization.

The specialist will develop work plans or project plans for quality improvement projects. They will work collaboratively with leadership, co-workers and medical staff to develop, implement, monitor and champion processes related to quality issues.

The Quality Improvement Specialist will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 7+ years clinical healthcare experience
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Other: Excellent written and oral communication, knowledge of complex hospital and healthcare systems, processes and quality/performance improvement, strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Knowledge of the Internet, evidence-based medicine, analytical skills and good clinical inquiry and investigational aptitude. MS Office Suite proficiency and ability to travel throughout the hospital is required.
  • Certification: Certification in quality (e.g. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality or CPPS) required within 2 years
