Job Description

General Summary:

Develop, direct and accomplish QA programs that require the application of advanced QA techniques and methods.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Organizes, plans and directs the development/administration/improvements of Quality Assurance functions in support of reliability programs.
  • Develops Quality Assurance programs for new products/processes, outlining organization required, inspection techniques and methods, manpower requirements, and facility needs.
  • Support discrepancy report activity, along with calibration and tooling.
  • Directs the solution of problems affecting the quality of completed aircraft Assure that the planned courses of action are compatible with contractual commitment, established schedules, cost estimates, available facilities/equipment and other Quality Assurance considerations.
  • Leads the activity of personnel assigned to this function in advanced phases of data analysis, correlation of failure reporting and processing methods and functional program study.
  • Directs quality assurance personnel assigned as inspectors in specific areas of responsibility.
  • Analyzes inspection methods, tools, equipment and facilities to determine basic requirements for control of quality at desired level
  • Perform Planning Work Instruction review prior to issuance to manufacturing, ensuring that QA operations are correctly placed and drawing QA requirements are adequately addressed.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:


  • Will consider related experience in lieu of earned academic degree or aircraft familiarity.
  • Experience working corrective actions for FAA requirements.
  • Experience working FAA audits preferred.
  • 2 years minimum of aircraft related Quality Engineering experience.
  • BS degree in Engineering or other related field of study preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:


  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to act independently with minimum level of supervision.
  • Experience, knowledge, or interest in Aerospace, new aircraft development, certification and/or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience in development and oversight of an FAA Part 21 approved Quality System preferred
  • Must be effective in working in an environment that requires the ability to: multi-task, adapt to frequently changing priorities, and to produce quality and timely deliverables within a setting where there are limited established procedures and protocol ambiguity may exist.
  • Strong analytical skills are required.
  • Excellent computer Microsoft Suite application (Word, Exel, Access, Outlook).

Physical Requirements:


  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  • Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
  • Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  • Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
