Job Description

Quality Engineers – this one is for you! Are you curious, detail-oriented, and looking for a challenge? Do you have manufacturing experience in an engineering role?


Summary:

In this role, you will work on process improvement projects to reduce defects, determine and prevent root causes of non-conformances, and reduce variation by using engineering, quality, and statistical methods. An ideal candidate would have experience doing the above in either a process/manufacturing engineering or quality engineering role and be familiar with common quality tools.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved
  • Direct and prioritize laboratory testing efforts
  • Develop procedures and inspection criteria
  • Collaborate with suppliers, production personnel, and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products
  • Manage, prioritize and complete projects or programs of moderate size, scope, and duration
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
  • Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions
  • Establish robust programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of equipment
  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions
  • Participate in and coordinate third party and internal quality and product safety audits, compliance, and corrective action
  • Utilize statistical and quality methodologies to troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document processes, materials, products, and engineering solutions
  • Coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or or drafters
  • Provide training in various quality methodologies and procedures

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience, OR
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience, OR
    • Associate’s degree and nine (9) years of related engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Experience utilizing various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Associate’s degree and nine (9) years of related engineering experience
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
