Job Category

Position Summary

Directly supervise more than 20 employees and able to understand, practice and train basic production and quality work instructions to these individuals. Develops tests and inspection procedures for golf balls at various stages of the production process, compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of golf balls by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advance ISO9001 activity.
  • Monitors and analyzes manufacturing processes to determine where quality problems are, their priority, and identifies the basic cause and communicates with responsible production associate.
  • Coordinates regular finished product testing with Test site locally and with Japan.
  • Conducts audits to ensure compliance with all approved manufacturing and process standards.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities.
  • Gathers and interprets technical data and confers with management or technical staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Assists with physical inventory of raw materials and finished products.
  • Back-up for laboratory technician and control Lab Assistant.
  • Develops effective countermeasures to problems. Initiates action plan, and measures results.
  • Responsible for meeting production targets in the inspection area.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supervises temporary workers when needed.
  • Recommends and initiates modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Manages internal and external product holds including any data gathering and coordination of product testing.
  • Create and revise SOP, compile and writes training material, conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Directs workers engaged in testing and inspecting product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university; or one to three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, specific gravities, correlations, slope, standard deviation, and mean.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
