Quality Control TechnicianGeneral Summary

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for providing quality assurance support and responsible for the overall quality of all repair services and works in partnership with local customer management to support their quality goals and establish a continuous improvement strategy.
Essential Job Functions
  • Approves by confirming specification requirements, conducting necessary visual, dimensional, or nondestructive testing processes, returning for re-work, verification of the re-work, and developing required documentation package.
  • Documents all inspection results by completing required reports and logs timely, summarizing required re-work, inputting required data into databases as needed. Prepare and report Nonconforming Conditions with NCR process. Coordinate corrective actions as needed where applicable.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to company and customer safety and quality standards, best practices, and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns.
  • Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to TEAM’s Core Values.
  • The position holder will assume all responsibilities for site visits prior to execution of inspection for the pre-population of critical inspection information to assist inspectors when executing inspection. This includes identifying access and egress requirements, static equipment information, safety requirements and creation /updating of site drawings.
  • Approves by confirming specification, conducting required visual and/or dimensional inspections, or nondestructive testing processes and communicating results or required corrective measures needed to production supervision personnel.
  • Collaborates with management and customer representatives to ensure customer satisfaction through the analysis and reporting of customer satisfaction data (i.e., customer surveys); identify, track and promote the resolution of customer issues; provide guidance to management for such resolution.
  • Communicates and interacts with customers and third parties on all quality issues and other issues as designated by management in a manner that benefits the professional reputation of the company.
  • Keeps measuring equipment operational and in good condition by following operating instructions, handling equipment properly, and storing equipment in accordance to manufacturer’s directions.
  • Assures that all required Quality Control inspection points have been completed and verifying that all documentation is accurate and complete for the job package.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school or college degree preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of blueprint reading
  • Have ability to identify limitations of NDE methods and provide recommendations prior to inspection execution.
  • Working knowledge in the use of Tape Measure, Calipers, and Micrometers. Sufficient manual dexterity to handle and manipulate delicate parts and measuring instruments.
  • Travel Requirements: 0% - 25%
  • Basic understanding of Nondestructive Testing techniques, heat treating, and NDE and Heat Treat specifications.
  • Sound understanding of equipment and its components.
  • Prefer 2+ years of inspection experience in field or 3+ years of experience in upstream operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret Quality Control documents, codes, standards, and customer specifications
Work Conditions
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
  • Position is based out of a branch or site location.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes
Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells
  • Excellent communication skills
