Quality Assurance Lead


Role Description:


The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for establishing and managing quality assurance processes, resources, and testing initiatives for our software products and platforms. This leadership role will build, scale, and maintain a world-class quality assurance and testing function within a fast-paced, iterative software development environment.


Responsibilities:


As the QA Lead, your core purpose will be to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality before reaching our customers. You will lead the end-to-end software testing process, including test planning, test case development, test execution, defect tracking, test reporting, and process improvements. Your team will perform functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, and exploratory testing across web, mobile, and connected device platforms.


On a daily basis, you will manage a team of external test specialists and work closely with program managers and engineering leads on release planning. You will provide guidance to the team on testing best practices, automation frameworks, and tools. Your team will be responsible for developing and maintaining test suites, test data, and automated checks for the evolving product suite.


A critical part of this role will be analyzing quality metrics, managing risks, and providing clear test status reporting to engineering and product leadership. You will identify areas for improving testing coverage, performance, and efficiency. As a key member of the product leadership team, your focus will be on enabling rapid iteration without compromising quality or customer experience.


Skills & Qualifications:


  • Experience developing and mentoring high-performing QA teams
  • Hands-on experience designing and executing test cases across web, mobile, APIs, devices
  • Expertise in Agile and iterative development methodologies
  • Knowledge of regulation and compliance standards in software testing
  • Proficiency with defect tracking and test management systems (e.g. JIRA)
  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Technical expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium), tools, and coding
  • 8+ years experience leading QA initiatives for digital products and platforms
  • Strong communication, influence, and collaboration skills
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field


Compensation:


The Washington base pay range for this role is $85,000 - $135,000. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
