Job Description


BAE Systems, Inc. is currently looking for a Senior-level QA Engineer to join an innovative team in Washington, DC. This position supports the development of mission-critical applications for a federal government client focused on national security.

The Senior-level QA Engineer position requires a degree in IT or a related field, along with 2 to 5 years of experience in software testing. The skilled QA Engineer will have expertise in automated testing. The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through the development and execution of automated test scripts.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to understand user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using issue tracking systems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies.
  • Participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Conduct 508 compliance testing to ensure our applications meet accessibility standards.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Perform regression testing to validate software changes and ensure existing functionality is not compromised.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Knowledge of 508 compliance testing and accessibility standards.
  • Proficiency in writing clear and concise test cases and test scripts.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automated testing.
  • Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools, such as PyTest, Selenium, or similar.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working in an agile team.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Understanding of database concepts and SQL.
  • Experience with Python programming language.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of API testing and related tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $109120 - $185460

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
