Every single person has a voice in our company, and we challenge each other to push the outer limits of our full, diverse potential. And, we’ve shown sustained growth that ensures you’ll have room to grow your skillset, responsibilities, and career.

Our team is smart, down-to-earth, and ready to listen to your best ideas. We reward excellence and offer competitive compensation and benefits. Visit our LinkedIn page for a closer look at our company, and learn more about our cultural values here.

What this position entails

IntelliScript’s Information Technology has been a key part of our success and is critical to our future. In this role, you will have responsibility for IntelliScript’s tiered test strategy, acting as a quality advocate within the development team. You will build and integrate automated test routines into the CI/CD pipelines, with results and metrics published via Azure DevOps. The Quality Assurance Engineer will emphasize data driven, incremental improvements to our quality strategy – while also helping to perform existing manual testing. You will collaborate on IntelliScript’s transition from manual to automated testing, making key contributions to our DevOps culture.

What you’ll be doing

  • Contribute to team planning and analysis of software development projects
  • Take ownership of leading quality assurance best practices, including test automation efforts, for a team
  • Test planning and manual test execution – exploratory, functional, smoke, stress, and regression testing
  • Design and build automated tests to help elevate the quality of our products and development efforts
  • Support release cycles with pre and post release testing and coordination
  • Collaborate with your teammates and be an advocate for quality and testing across the entire software development life cycle

What we need

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with testing and test planning with both manual and automation tools and scripts
  • Excellent technical design, problem solving, and debugging skills
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Experience with automated and manual testing
  • Ability to create and execute test cases to identify bugs or performance concerns
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies
  • Understanding and practice of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum)

What you bring to the table

  • Understand how one person’s tasks and responsibilities are related to other roles, departments, and within the overall business
  • Take ownership of a task and ensure it is resolved
  • Strong communication skills
  • Articulate and professional when speaking with clients as well as with colleagues, at all organizational levels
  • Ability to understand and communicate with audiences that are both technically and not technically minded
  • Highly skilled at prioritizing multiple concurrent tasks, such as projects in different phases and internal research requests
  • Take direction for certain tasks, collaborate on shared responsibilities, as well as discern priorities independently
  • Demonstrated “let’s find a way to do it” attitude – no task is too big or too small
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on both new technologies and existing technologies

Wish list

  • Understanding of DevOps principles
  • Experience in environments subject to HIPAA and/or PCI regulations
  • Strong experience testing C#, JavaScript, .NET applications, APIs and services
  • Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
  • Experience in software-as-a-service, actuarial science and/or insurance underwriting industry
  • Understanding of creating, implementing, and maintaining software programs
  • Continued education and/or advanced degree(s)
