Job Description
  • The objective of the Analyst is to ensure that testing of every feature of the software solution and through every phase of development is well defined, planned, and executed. * The work of the Analyst should inspire confidence that any potential issue has been identified and addressed prior to release of the software solution. * The Quality Assurance Analyst, Specialist Level is a seasoned and experienced professional with proficient job area knowledge and practical knowledge of project management, managing projects and processes under general supervision to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • This is a hybrid role so candidates must be local to Nashville, TN. This will be 50-75% remote after a predetermined training period. :
  • Responsible for creating end-to-end test plans, executing the test plan, and managing all activities in the plan as part of and in conjunction with an Agile Scrum development team to ensure that all objectives are met, and the software solution works as expected. * The solution should be tested in terms of functionality, performance, stability, and compatibility with legacy and/or third-party software and integrated external hardware.
Essential Functions
  • Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts such as test plans, test summaries, and process documents as needed.
  • Perform all job functions with a positive, professional attitude
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements via Functional, Regression, Performance, Stress, and Endurance Testing.
  • Keep team and stakeholders informed of project QA progress and emergent risks.
  • Required to perform other appropriate duties as requested, directed, or assigned
  • Engage as an active participant in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes via Exploratory, and Usability Testing in addition to above testing methods.
  • Hold and facilitate test case reviews with cross-functional team members.
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to Product Owners.
  • Identify test requirements from Conditions of Acceptance, map test case requirements, and design test coverage plan.
  • Advocate for and provide quality leadership on assigned program(s).
  • Seek opportunities for improvement in quality, including but not limited to efficiency gains and expanding test coverage.
  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Assists and guides less experienced Analysts in the responsibilities listed above.
  • Execute and evaluate manual test cases and report test results.
Qualifications
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer software related field such as Quality Assurance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related technical field with 4 years minimum prior experience in Software Quality Assurance or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • United States Citizenship required
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay disciplined and focused
  • Able to be productive and effective working either alone or as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Proficient knowledge and experience in test design, development, and execution of test cases, in support of software and hardware solutions
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience in ISR systems
  • US Government security clearance
  • Experience with SpiraTest, Version One, or similar testing tools/suites
  • Familiarity with closed network environments
  • 2+ years of experience in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Experience with software that directly interfaces with 3rd party firmware
