Job Title: Software Engineer (Python) - Hedge Fund

: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic hedge fund team. As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our proprietary software platform which supports our fundamental investment strategies in the tech sector. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a focus on cutting-edge technologies. The offices are located in the Tri-State Area but forms of hybrid working are possible.

Compensation: Total compensation package (base salary + bonus) up to $500,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the AI and machine learning team to implement AI-driven tools and workflows.
• Contribute to system design discussions and provide insights on how to improve data collection and processing.
• Code and build the back end of our proprietary software platform, MOSAIC, using Python and other relevant technologies.
• Collaborate with the data science team to integrate fundamental data and alternative data sources into the platform.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, manipulate data sources, and build data-driven applications using SQL and Python.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with Pandas and working with large datasets.
• Solid understanding of data manipulation, SQL, and back-end development.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, although an AI background is not required.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to wear multiple hats and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• 3-6 years of experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in the finance or tech industry.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with financial data analysis and investment processes.
• Interest in Machine Learning and AI.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React and Scala.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP).

Location: New York City, Bay Area, or Tri-State area preferred. We value in-person collaboration and have a preference for candidates who can work in the office. We have implemented COVID policies to ensure a safe working environment.
