Purchasing Coordinator Jobs

David Weekley Homes is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our Nashville Purchasing team.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Conduct Purchase Order (PO) research and resolution
• Assist with special projects as needed by the Estimating Team
• Timely completion of processes and documentation for new home construction job starts and change orders.
• Prepare accounts payable reconciliation
• Interact regularly with internal team members in sales, construction and design, as well as external vendors
• Eagerness to learn about purchasing and the homebuilding industry and completion of on-the-job training.
• Place extra orders for Builders with Vendors/Trade Partners
• Process new vendor set up ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted and complete.

Job Qualifications:

• Comfortable talking with people you’ve never met and communicating with various sources to gather essential information
• Understanding of basic construction, purchasing and/or insurance terminology is a plus, but not required
• Ability to manage many simultaneously moving parts effectively
• Demonstrate curiosity and a strong desire to learn and grow with a company focused on future growth
• Experience with or comfortable learning database systems, such as JDEdwards
• Demonstrated experience taking initiative to get things done and accomplish tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• College graduate OR comparable professional experience
• Strong organization, attention to detail, focus and follow-up to meet and exceed deadlines
• Solid basic mathematical skills
