Summary:Actively participates in accurate purchasing, receiving, distribution, setting re-order points and organizing inventory. General oversite of all inventory items held at Jays Company warehouse. Continually analyze the location of items and if they are in the most efficient location. Confirm need of purchase then confirm current pricing with vendor. Negotiations of price may be required. Knowledge of price increase exports. Responsible for verifying that all special price matrix’s are set up correctly and updated as needed. Complete SCM experience is helpful.


Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have 3-5 years of previous inventory purchasing and/or warehouse experience. Also, must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Duties and Responsibilities:Primary focus on inventory, purchasing, receiving and efficiency of distribution along with company growth.Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages inventory tracking system that records purchases, deliveries, and distribution. *
  • Maintains and establishes relationships with vendors. *
  • Produces inventory weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as requested. *
  • Enter new inventory items as requested and document confirmation of the request in communication. If a sales representative is requesting the inventory item there must be approval and continual follow up with inventory levels on that item. *
  • Attends continuing education classes and seminars to maintain and improve skill set to better monitor and maintain inventory. *
  • Works with vendors in emergency situations to have problems solved. *
  • Conducts weekly cycle counts and verifies counts thoroughly. *
  • Enters new vendors into Spire with approval. *
  • Alerts specific Jays sales representative/account manager when custom product needs to be re-ordered. *
  • Maintains an acceptable level of physical inventory based on established reorder points. *
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Create purchase orders to buy product & send PO over to specific vendor. The amount of inventory purchased is based on review of item history and on re-order points. *
  • Receives inventory shipments and verifies quantity shipped once the invoice from vendor has been received. *
  • Assists warehouse crew with maintaining a clean and efficient operating warehouse.*
  • Makes accurate inventory adjustments after fully investigating discrepancy. *
  • Reviews non-moving products and returns to vendors as allowed. *
  • Monitors office supplies, giveaways, convention material and gifts, and replenishes as needed. *


Education/Experience:

High School education required; Two years of college is recommended but not required. As noted above, 3-5 years of related experience is required. This job requires a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Some hands-on experience from the stage 2 level would be great. Experience with SCM would be helpful.


Language Ability:

Ability to read, interpret and write documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Need to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and professionally before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Required to draft & send emails that are concise, professional, and understandable.


Chain Analysis Ability:

Review and report Inbound purchase of inventory data. Create structural model of integrated supply chain. Continually review structural model of integrated supply chain process.


Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Creating formulas in excel would be great, but not required.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Required to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability of thinking “outside the box”, finding solutions and creating better practices is required.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Teams, Excel, basic accounting software, design software, internet software, StarShip software and order processing systems. Must have knowledge to elevate Jays Company KPI’s & SOP’s processes.


Multi-Task Ability:

Must have the ability to move from one issue to another with a “leader” attitude.
