Job Description

Mighty Coconut, the independent entertainment studio behind Walkabout Mini Golf, 57° North, and Laser Mazer—as well as several other animated shorts and series—is seeking a skilled games marketer to help propel Walkabout Mini Golf (the best loved multiplayer in VR) to increasing popularity in VR and on mobile along with future projects from the studio. To become a Coconut on the marketing team in this role, you must be kind, a self-starting problem solver, cool under pressure, capable of multitasking, and be equally able to innovate and implement. We’re looking for someone to pull the whole room together, to be that special ingredient to make our digital marketing and content sing. Core competencies/passions should be game publishing, targeted digital marketing, graphic design look and feel, and content project management.

  • Salary: $60k - $100k based on experience.

Duties include:

  • Taking prospective partnerships and high level deals from the Head of Communications & Business Strategy and making them a reality.
  • Monitoring, configuring, adjusting, and gleaning actionable insights from digital marketing tools including but not limited to platform storefronts, bundles, and sales (Quest, Steam, Pico, PSVR2, et al.); social media platforms including YouTube and TikTok; email/text direct marketing via a TBD loyalty program; and sponsored influencer partnerships.
  • Planning, facilitating, assessing, and scaling player-centric/influencer hosted social events in partnership with venues and planning, executing, assessing, and attending industry events 3-4 times per year.
  • Participating in business development discussions internally and with external inquiries, helping to determine what is viable and working new initiatives into standard operating procedures.
  • Project managing the ideation, creation, editing, and placement of content in the editorial panel of Walkabout Mini Golf, social media channels, our website, our merchandise store, our digital streaming, YouTube, podcasts, and occasionally for IRL industry and player events.
  • Working with our game platform partners on optimizing and making best use of storefronts, bundles, sales, editorial, and other ways to be featured and convert shoppers to players.
  • Cooperatively manage our 2-3 person marketing team day to day including a community manager and a video editor)
  • Interfacing with the larger Mighty Coconut team across all disciplines, most regularly the art and design departments, the management aka “resource team”, and QA/release management as well as our team of volunteer moderators.
  • Working in daily partnership with the Head of Communications & Business Strategy on various communications and marketing ongoing programs plus special initiatives including platform publishing and sales-oriented plans, digital targeting via social media and content channels, establishing look and feel in graphic design campaigns/templates, and project management for content.
