Public Safety Officer (Lateral)


The picturesque Town of Steilacoom is establishing an eligibility list for lateral officers. Public Safety Officers are cross-trained and have an opportunity to serve the community in the areas of law enforcement and EMS. If you are not trained in both disciplines, training needed to increase your versatility will be provided. We think you will find life as a Public Safety Officer both diverse and rewarding and encourage law enforcement officers to apply. The 2022 hourly range for this position is $38.25 - $44.77. Specialty pay opportunities are available. Officers are part of the LEOFF 2 retirement system and may participate in a 457 deferred compensation plan. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). In addition, the Town maintains a tuition reimbursement program.
