Job Summary: We are seeking a detail oriented, highly motivated, and professional individual to conduct and review criminal record research within a busy background screening team.The ideal candidate will be driven to learn about a unique industry while consistently delivering results in a timely manner.They must also possess the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting a variety of deadlines and maintaining maximum accuracy.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook required

  • Demonstrate dependability, sense of urgency and high attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritize and work under stress

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The position responsibilities include:

  • Verification of criminal record information by contacting courts, prosecutors, police agencies,
  • Interpretation of public record results and determination of appropriate actions based on regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Civil and Criminal public records
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned
  • Fulfillment of product requests for background check reports with an emphasis on criminal records
  • Understanding of court terminology as well as understanding of various jurisdictional court differences.
  • Procurement and management of criminal record research requests from various sources
  • Communication with internal departments on customer service issues related to findings or other public records trends
  • Department of Corrections, and probation offices as needed
  • Adjudication of criminal database results, determining appropriate next steps

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years’ work experience in Public Records research
  • Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Business Administration, English, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of court processes and/or FCRA preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required

Additional Details:

  • Home Office (5 days a week). Attendance at the office may be required for certain events
  • Workdays are primarily normal office hours (8-5), however there are times during the year that are busier than others.Must be flexible to occasional circumstances where evening or weekend work is necessary (less than 5%)
