Job Description
Overview:
Our Orlando office is looking for a Policy Planning Analyst with 2+ years of experience to join our Planning team.
Responsibilities:
This position will support our growing planning practices which includes public policy planning, community planning, public outreach, and other areas of the planning field. A technical knowledge of planning principles is required along with the ability to effectively write reports and similar planning documents. The ability to work closely with the public, stakeholders, and various agency staff is also required.
Project experiences will be diverse, as we provide services to both the public and private sectors. You will perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members. Responsibilities may include:
  • Project management: managing tasks and submittal coordination
  • Processing private land development entitlements
  • Preparing planning and land use studies and varied technical memos
  • Drafting comprehensive plan update
  • Coordinating with various municipal and State agencies
  • Organizing and attending community and public outreach meetings, including attending evening meetings when needed
  • Drafting Land Development code updates
  • Performing zoning, land use, and evaluation
Qualifications:
  • Degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Urban and Regional Planning, or other degree applicable to the planning field
  • 2+ years of work experience in a related field, and internships are preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Experience with planning for mixed-used environments, New Urbanism/Smart Growth principles, public agencies, land use analysis, community engagement, and knowledge of progressive planning trends and strategies
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to commute to local municipalities and job sites
  • Working knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software (ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online)
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
