Purpose and Objective


The Project Manager will oversee a strategic level of project leadership and oversight of large-scale cross-functional projects within the U.S. Retirement Business. The Project Manager will collaborate with the Director of Client Service and Director of Pension Support Services, to identify strategic project initiatives as they relate to PRT administration and operations. This role will ensure large scale initiatives within the strategic workstream are completed, tracked, and monitored using appropriate governance and reporting systems. This position requires extensive project management experience in the financial services or insurance industry, as well as subject matter expertise in PRT pension administration.


Role And Responsibilities


  • Monitor effectiveness of pension support processes, both internal and external, to identify and implement key project initiatives.
  • Oversee project roles and responsibilities, resource availability and allocation, project documentation, and financial forecasting.
  • Supervise entire project execution, including idea formation, kick-off, scope and requirements gathering, development, testing, training, schedule and project risks.
  • Lead contract administration (order management, billing and payment), and ensure a high level of fiscal control and accountability for project budget.
  • Work across all functional support areas (Distribution, Marketing, Underwriting, Operations, IT, Legal and Compliance, etc.) to execute critical projects related to PRT pension administration.
  • Collaborate with internal resources, external clients as well as third party vendors as needed.
  • Define the procurement strategy (if needed) based on best-practice procurement plan and providers selection.
  • Collaborate with UK- and US-based organizations to take advantage of global projects as they relate to PRT.
  • Establish project management objectives, processes, and procedures to promote an efficient, timely workflow to achieve organizational goals.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring stakeholders are aware and action is taken.
  • Manage relationships with key partners to ensure input is received in a timely and effective manner to meet project objectives and schedules.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.


Requirements


  • 7+ years of project management experience with ability to lead multiple projects of various sizes and complexity.
  • Ability to leverage data, facts, and analysis to streamline processes.
  • Annuity, Retirement and Defined Benefit Plan experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business or related field, preferred.
  • Solid understanding of risk management practices and ability to operate in a very risk-controlled environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or PMP certification highly desirable.
  • Solid ability to utilize technology as an enabler of operational improvement, scalability, and success.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, including distribution partners, stakeholders, senior leadership, and client/customers.
  • Successful track record in developing, adapting, and aligning service organizations to achieve broader business results.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to continuously evaluate and re-prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pension Risk Transfer, Insurance, and/or Third-Party Administration operating models and platforms (IT, Marketing, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Distribution, Product manufacturing, etc.).
