Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Reports directly to Program Leader/Project Executive. Coordinates construction services activities to ensure compliance with plans through completion including occupancy by clients. Expedites equipment and materials orders and coordinates deliveries. Receives, reviews and maintains a variety of documents including A/E plans, shop drawings, as-builts etc. Distributes documents for review; monitors review processes. Obtains drawings and ensures records are accurate and current. Conducts inspections of construction work in progress. Rectifies or reports discrepancies. Interacts with a wide variety of internal and external resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responds to client inquires and complaints.
  • Could run small scale project under the direction of a Project Manager responsible for scope, schedule and budget.
  • Coordinates asbestos and other material testing and removal and notifies appropriate resources and makes necessary arrangements.
  • Collaborates with Project Manager and Senior Healthcare Equipment Planner to define medical equipment requirements and obtain approvals.
  • Orders, expedites and oversees installation of material and equipment orders.
  • Reviews architectural drawing updates to ensure equipment locations and rough-ins and distributes to others for review; monitors review process. Takes necessary steps if process is not completed.
  • Participate in user group meetings as required for all phases of the project (Preliminary Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Procurement).
  • Acts as liaison to representatives from regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures drawings are appropriately filed and current. Takes steps to locate current records.
  • Uses tools and equipment appropriately.
  • Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment.
  • Ensures that materials and equipment are ordered to specification and arranges for delivery at appropriate time and place. Coordinate storage and final installation of equipment identified in the Equipment / Furniture Responsibilities Matrix. Visit job site to oversee installation as required.
  • Inspects construction of work in process. Field-verifies electrical, etc.
  • Coordinates moves for clients to ensure that projects are completed according to plans and those clients can move into their new space with the correct equipment as per plan.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (construction, architecture, or engineering preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings from schematic to construction documents
  • Accounting and AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Experience related to architectural firms, engineering firms, medical equipment suppliers and general contractors preferred.
